Default alarm

Okay, here I go with another problem. My alarm does not work. I turn the switch, by the left front fender, to the on position, butthe alarm stilldoesn't work. Is there another switch besides the key switch?

Also being a new member, signed on April 20, I think this is a great forum. I've been reading most of the answers to the various problems and like what I read. I happy to be a member.

Keep it up.

Not sure if yours ('77) is the same as mine ('73) or not but mine has a relay which I think is located in the jack compartment that is operated by the key switch which in turn applies voltage to the alarm horn. Yours might be different tho. Maybe someone else here can help.

Hi orangevette, my alarm didn't work either so I just use the fender switch as a kill switch. PG.

Welcome orangevette!! Try tracking the power by testing for voltage at the key switch. If you are good there, check for voltage at the horn with the key in the on postion. At least you should be able to pinpoint the problem. Good luck.

Hey, 73shark, pg and watwheel, thanks for the replies. I did forget to mention that my vette is a 74. I will trace the power to the switch and the horn. Thanks again.
