when I'm rolling at about 30-40 mph and i go to give more gas it boggs down like its in the wrong gear.sounds like the lifters chatter a bit.from a dead stop i can get on it and it seems to go through all the gears fine. Sweet ride! My first Vette. Just received it as a gift. It had been sitting for a while oil and trans fluid changed....Thanks

Who ever gave 'er to ya, I want to be on their Christmas list.
Depending on how long she sat, you may have to clean or rebuild the carb. I'd check and maybe re-set the timing too.

 

What year model is it? Carb or throttle body?

 

This is an1982 w/crossfire injection. carburator, I believe.

 

Cross fire injection is dual throttle body with 1 fuel injector in each T/B. Need to check things like fuel filter, fuel pressure. Are there any trouble codes? Need to check for exhaust back pressure which could indicate cat. converter stopped up.
