Hood Clearance with new engine

I think if you can find a hood that will clear that monster... you are always going to need a spotter in the passenger seat!!! I can pretty much post with confidence that the Vanacor hood will still need a hole in it. That manifold looks to have at least a 4" rise over stock. The original intakes sit the carb down below the valve covers so it will all fit. I used a Edlebrock Performer RPM and carb set up that only raised the carb 2" over stock. With some fancy air cleaner mating, I was able to keep it under the new hood, but even with only 2.5" of rise, I can't see my right fender. I say keep the stock hood, cut a hole in it, and show that thing off!
