Hi Gents,

New to this forum. Just purchased a 1988 convertible. I need some assistance, how do you put the top up and down, can not remember , yea, silly huh! Alsowhere can I locate any places that show exploded diagrams for the parts for the windhield top for the convertible? Need some help.

Not sure about the convertible top operation - both were are h/t's.

Not sure whatcha' men by windshield top tho'...

 

To pit it up, just pull it up, lock in the front, then push in the back.

To put down pull the cable release, unlock the front, pull up front, push back.

I always have the windows down.

Look for the cable release behind the drivers seat. You will see a lever and a small button. The lever releases the top and the button release the deck. The lever and the button are under the deck. After releasing the top, Raise the deck and fold the top down.

 

By windshield top do you mean the locking levers on the actual top, or the recievers on the windshield frame?

 

Just a tidbit also.....the normal release button for the coupe hatch back in the center console glove box (yellow button), will release the rear deck as well on a convertible.
