Default 1995 auto transmission

This is a issue that just started happening, and it doesn;t happen all the time either....

While im driving down the highway the idle will consistently change, the transmission is constantly engaging and disengaging the stall....It will sometimes go for miles with the stall still engaged and sometimes it will just go back and forth for awhile...Around about 60mph is the worst, between 60 and 65 it happens the most...

ANY IDEAS????????????

What year is the car? If it has a 700R trans, the detent cable may be out of adjustment.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but your tranny is going south, I had a formula that did that 3 times on me. Finally swapped in the 6spd.
My 95 also has the 4l60e. I absolutely hate that tranny. If you are getting it rebuilt, they have new upgraded parts for them so be sure to ask your builder. Do not let them try and sell you on the "Oh there is a new corvette servo that you can put in" you already have that in your tranny. The camaro/firebirds do not though.
Also, they have upgraded drums, clutch packs, etc... If you want we have a guy here that R&D's parts for these and has come up with one hella set up. Just let me know and good luck!

Oh one more thing, if you are swapping out yourself make sure to run cleaner through your tranny cooler. This usually takes 2-3 cans depending on how bad the tranny got. Trust me from my mistake!! Live and learns what they say. Good Luck!
