I just bought a 96 LT-1 corvette a few weeks ago. It's been starting within 2 secs of turning the ignition every time. Today I tried to start it, and the engine just cranks, but does not fire up, just a slight lope after I get off the ignition, then stops after a few seconds.How do I check for error codes. Could I have flooded the engine? Not sure what the problem coulde be.Can anyone help. Thanks... Michael Beckett.

 

Need to purchase a spark checker from your local auto parts to see if you have spark while cranking. Also, need to check fuel pressure with a pressure gauge to see if you lost pressure. Could be a pump, ignition module, coil, and so forth. Do you have tach deflection while cranking? That will tell if your Opti module is working.

 

I totally over-reacted, and it seems that I may have flooded the engine by pumping it before I cranked it, as I'm used to doing with my ex-86 carburated 305 camaro on a cold start. After about an hour, the corvette fired right up. The camaro has since been sold for the low, low price of $1000, and had alot of life left in her. Thanks for the reply.
