Default !986 Vette build

I just got my hands on a black 86 vette. I will have to replace the engine since the original spun a bearing and the previous owner did not keep it. It was in very bad shape. I do have everything else but the short block. I was able to get another block (10066038 crate motor produced in 92 only). Does anyone know where I can find more detailed info on the block. I am currently deciding on a 383 on 350. I would like to have good performance while keeping it reasonable for a drive to work once or twice a week (50 miles one way) Anyone have some suggestions

Thanks

a 21 year old car will not be reliable transportation, without a second vehicle as a backup. That being said, Remember the car was designed to handle a certian amount of horsepower. (I've seen transmissins, and rearends fall apart, because they were not designed to handle the extra horsepower.)

With futher research I have decided to stick with the 350 with a horsepower range of 300 to 350 with the original TPI (massaged a little). As for reliable transportation the plan is to do an inspection of all the major assemblys as well as all electrical. So I believe it can be reliable, but it will take time and a lot of attention to detail.
