belt tensioner
When you say you loosened the belt, do you mean you took the belt off and now you are trying to put the belt back on but you are getting too much slack? Or are you saying that the tensioner pulley is stuck and now you cant retighten it?
I loosened the bolt on the front of the tensioner so I could get some slack in belt to put it back around pulley on Alternator and air pump. I loosened the bolt and the tensioner pulley dropped down jus a little. I put the belt back around the other pullies now the tensioner is not up against the belt. How do I get it back in a tight position?
THANKS for the help

Umm... Im not exactly sure what this could be. When you loosened the tensioner, you loosened the bolt and not just turned it so the tensioner would pivot correct? In this case, you might have loosened up the tensioner pulley into the position it is supposed to be in so that you can get the belt off and then when you put it back together, you put the tensioner in the wrong position and now it is stuck being loose. I would assume that is that is the case, i would try and adjust the position and move the tensioner closer toward (i believe) the top of the motor. If that doesnt work, just play with it and see if you cant get it into any other positions to tighten it up a little. Tell me if that works... if not, i can talk to my mechanic and see what he thinks. Good luck to you Tony
