Common problems?
Hey guys, was a member here long ago when I had my C5 Z06, but as I forgot all my login information and email, here we are.
Last night I went and picked up a 92 auto. It made the 5 hour drive home no problem, but there are a few issues that I thought I would post here and ask if these are common problems with known solutions before I start digging into them.
1. No fuel reading. I assume a fuel sending unit, but I didnt know if the guages themselves go bad often in these cars.
2. Brake fade. During my long drive home of 99% highway and very few brake uses, the brakes became less and less effective. Very noticably so, to the point of almost dangerous. Fluid compression issues? Rubber line problems? Vacuum? Booster issue? Let me know your thoughts.
3. Targa top rattle over bumps. Any standard replacement hardware normally suspect when the targa starts to creek and rattle?
Thanks for the help.

Welcome to the forum.
You could check the resistance of the fuel sending unit to see if it changes with fuel level.
You might check the brake fluid level and also see if any ofthe pads have fluid on them from a leaky caliper.
My C5 knowledge is rather limited but I have heard that they had a problem with top squeaking and noise.
