Correct temp ?

Default Correct temp ?

OK guys here is a question for all to answer what is the normal operating temp for an 89. Mine is all over the place . Normally around 185 to 195........but in traffic or town has run as high as 240 is that about right ? Thanks

Sounds pretty normal to me. Doesn't have real good airflow if car is not moving. Might check your cooling fan in front to make sure it is working.

was up, my temp. does that too. i always make sure my front airdam is straight and intact. i tell ya i just finshied the waterpump and its running alitte cooler. highest i seen was 233.

Your reg operating temps are fine. My '87 work-in-progress never goes above 224. Even in 100 degree heat, no wind, high humdity and huge traffic jam.

Although, the cockpit could boil water in those conditions[:@]

i have a 180 stat and redline water wetter and a gallon of 40 below and green freez. and i run at 185 deg .when driving and 190-195 deg.when sitting and that is in a 93 lt1 engine and i live in florida. 98 deg most of the summer.i just make shure i have no air in system and full of water.make shure you fan is kicking on to at the right temp.
