Default Fuel Pump

The 1992 C4 Corvette that I received from my Brother-in-law had not been started in about 6 years. The first thing I did was drain the tank and add new gas. After charging a good battery, I put the key in and tried to hear the fuel pump come on. After I looked at the way it is wired, it will not come on unless you have proper oil pressure through a relay. After cranking and pegging the oil gauge, Still no fuel pump came on. Due to bad weather here it will be several days before I can get back to it. I will have my wife crank it over and I will check voltage at the fuse. It is in line after the relay to the fuel pump. So, if there is no power, it is the relay or the sending device at the oil pressure gauge. If I have power, then it is the fuel pump, and I will replace it. Does that sound to be the correct steps to follow?
I just watched two videos on you tube on where the relays are located, in side the passenger kick panel, and that there is one that is supposed to let the fuel pump run for 2 seconds as soon as you turn the key on run by the computer, before trying to start it, then during starting or cranking the motor, as soon as 4 psi of oil pressure is sensed then the other relay closes and starts the fuel pump to keep the motor running.
Any other advice or another item to check. A new fuel doesn't come with the pick up screen and neither does the spike device right after the fuel pump.

a56Nomad,

From what I can see, for a fuel pump check, obviously there is the fuel pump fuse (right end of the dash board) - Passenger door must be opened to access it. Looks like you have found that. Try removing the plastic cover from the ALCL (Assembly Line Comm link) below the instrument cluster on the left of the console, near the foot well. (driver's side). Try to energize the fuel pump by applying battery voltage to terminal G (Of the twelve possible terminals in the plug, G is the one while looking at the plug, the lower left most terminal on the bottom row). You should hear the file pump come on, the one inside the tank. If the pump does not power on, then there may be an open or a loose connection in the fuel pump circuit, or the fuel pump may be faulty itself. Looking for a wiring diagram to see if the oil pressure relay plays a part in the circuit. Will post one when I find it.
