Default hot feet

I just recently purchased a 1990 C4 roadster, as I was driving it home (about a 45 min run) I noticed it was getting very hot down at my feet. I checked the heater and it was turned off but there was still a lot of heat at my feet. I know the system is suppose to circulate air even if the heater is off, but I don't think it should be that hot it gets very uncomfortable. So if anyone has experienced something like this I would love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks for reading

There is a chance heat is commig from the heater, leaky heater door or faulty heater water valve. I have found ink pens and pencils that were laying on the dash and had fallen down the defroster vent into the heater case blocking the heater door, or bad heater water shut off valve. The other heat source could be the exhaust pipe running close to the foot well. you can possibly reroute the exhaust pipe, or not. Shield it, exhaust thermo tape wrap in that area on the pipe and shields to the foot well. And add thermo insulation under the carpet in that area. If you went with thermo tape with shields and carpet insulation, it should eliminate the problem. It worked on my 77 with 2.5in exhaust pipe.
