Default Mystery radio wires

I was trying it change the radio in my 1984 corvette and after taking it out and finding out what wires went where I was left with 3 wired that I don’t know where they go or what they do. I have the Bose speakers and the speakers in the dash so I was thinking the wires could maybe go to those speakers. I found the wires for the door speakers and the speakers in the back. And the other wires for the illumination, antenna (etc) but I still have 3 wires that I don’t know what they go to they are dark pink, light pink, and white. If anyone knows anything and help thank you.

Welcome to the forums. I have not done a radio swap on a C-4. It sounds as if you are replacing the factory radio, c-4s had amplified speakers, that can go bad, that I'm not sure would be the best thing to use, your choice. There are many C-4 guys out there that know what the wires are. You might want to consider rewiring or replacing the speakers. YouTube is always helpful at times for what you are trying to do. Good luck I hope it sounds good.

I didn't do a radio swap when I had my 94 with the Bose system but I did consider doing it. After checking I can tell you it's not possible to just put in a new head unit and connect to the factory speakers as they are amped outside the Bose head unit. If I remember some were located behind the seats but I could be wrong, it's been years. Usually the amps are the problem. There are repair services for them or if you want to go after market it is possible. As stated before there is some good how to's on You Tube.

You can Google wiring schematics and see what that shows you. If the new radio kit makes no mention of it I would say don't worry about it unless something does not work. Well it's been a few days hopefully it's working by now.

Welcome to the forum. You can contact Crutchfield and ask them because they make harnesses to replace OEM radios and they may have some suggestions on what you can do to solve this problem.
