Quick oil question

RE: Quick oil question
There's a little fudge above the 'top' mark on the stick.
As long as the crankshaft ain't spinnin' thru it, makin' foam in the pan, you're okay. Just make sure to get the old stuff out. ALL of it...

RE: Quick oil question
I've got an oil question too! Changed my oil Mobil 1 last July 3rd and only have 1100 miles on it now.
I can't remember how long syntetic oil can stay in there timewise!
If I hadn't made a 800 mile trip it wouldn't have any miles on it.
Too much work and not enough cruzing !

RE: Quick oil question
Hey larry00, Don't worry about the age of the oil if you use syntetic.I work in the aircraft industry where the equipment is exposed to up and down temperature and humity changes and is tested regulary. As long as you run the engine up to temperature when do run the car and for sum time most moisture and contaminates will burn off. Remember Mobile 1 is used for higher running temps. for longer times w/ less breakdown. I have seen $900k machine run on and off for 10yrs w/ 300gals. of 30w Mobile 1 and test OK a long as water is not poured directly into it. save your money and change it at 6k or 7k miles. good luck
