Is it true that the Tensioner Pulley can affect performance? I mean power in accelleration. I have a co-worker that says he has owned 3 IROC Camaros and seems to be a little knowledgeable. He was looking at my engine and pushed on my belt tensioner. He said it was way loose; like an inch. He said it is worn-out. Is this true? and causing sluggish performance? Thanks, ZR1clone

Only if the alternator is not charging due to belt slip. Other than that, no.
