Aggravating front end squeaks
Seems like this has been getting worse with the colder weather now, but it is becoming very irratating.
Pretty much a constant squeak under normal driving conditions coming from the front. I have changed out the bushings for the sway bar but that didn't help. There are no Zerk fittings to grease under there, so my question is could it be the bushings or something else?
There is only 41,000 miles on my 98 and all the bushings look good as far as wear goes.
Could they have just dried out to the point where they are making this noise? Any way to apply some lubricant to them to soften them up?
Hope someone else here has had the same issues and can help...
Thanks

RE: Aggravating front end squeaks
This happened to me when I had my 68, immediately after installing urethane bushings for the sway bars. I applied grease (I think it was a Teflon-based grease, like the stuff that Slick 50 makes) to the bar where the bushings were located and the problem went away. In any case, make sure the grease you use is compatible with the rubber bushings.
