exhaust opinions
It's about time to get a new exhaust, the stock just ain't cutting it these days. I'm looking at either SLP Loudmouth or Billy Boat. I've heard both are supposed to give decent performance gains. I have heard Billy Boats on my dad's '05 C6 but it's been a long time since I've heard the Loudmouths. I'm wondering if anyone has some actual info on realworld performance gains between the two or at least an opinion on which one sounds better. Please remember that I'm still young and while I don't want it to be completely obnoxious, I do want to hear them if you know what I mean. Thanks in advance for any responses and please don't say things like "get flowmaster or borla" I've already ruled them out and am concentrating on either of these two.

RE: exhaust opinions
I am 15, going to be 16 in 2 weeks and I drive an '02 Z06 daily. I'm putting the stock Ti back on. The Titanium exhaust from the Z06 is an excellent flowing exhaust, not much will give you more horsepower than that and it sounds AWESOME!!!. I have the Magnaflow Magnapack exhaust right now and if I cruise at 1700-2000 Rpm for more than about 10 minutes then I'll get a headache. Remember that when you're buying a loud exhaust. If you won't sway from those two at all then go with the B&B. The loudmouth build and sound quality is CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Much luck,
Jonathan

RE: exhaust opinions
Billy Boat is good quality, but both are too loud for my taste. Remember, noise does not equate with power. Any good cat back will give about the same performance gain: its long tube headers that really produce a power gain -- any other exhaust "mod" is pretty lame by comparison.

Thanks for the info. I do realize that noise doesn't = power, however, I love to hear a loud exhaust on a v8. When I do this, I will be getting headers also, do you guys have opinions on headers, I haven't really looked at any yet and don't have any info at all. Again, thanks.

Long tube headers with a large primary. Only shorties are smog legal, but your not going to get the performance out of them like you will the Long tube headers.
Do a search here for Headers, Lee has offered quite a bit of advice already on some good ones,

And please realize, there is loud, and then there is shakes-the-fillings-out-of-your-teeth loud. 'vettes, particularly ZO6s, dont have a lot of sould insulation to bgegin with and it is easy to get a system that is just too loud. Worse, some cat bascks create really anoying resonances. Try to hear the system you are buying first on another car.

You don't need the largest primaries out there until you get a super modded engine. Otherwise you'll lose low end torque. Until you have a stroked or blown motor keep the 1 & 3/4 primaries. Got that info from Lee

RE: exhaust opinions
I have the Billy Boat Route 66 with the quad ovals on my '98 coupe. When I bought the car, the previous owner had bypassed the mufflers and put staight tips on it. I didn't like that sound at all. The Route 66's are perfect for the sound. Not too loud and not to quiet. Plus they look bad *** on it.
