A Friend of mine recently traded in his 98 C5 Vette for a '05 C6 coupe. Now he was looking for a C5 Z06, My question is, If the C5 Z06 pushed 405hp., and the C6 pushes 400hp., What would be the better car for a daily driver street/strip car?

My opinion was the C6 would be a better platform to start with. You have all of the newest technology in the car, I Know the Z06 is more of a racecar, But, I Guess I'm just curious if the normal C6 Coupe is a better car. Please help me out, Thanks!

Its a toss up, and depends on what you want the car for and also on price: the C5ZO6 will probably set you back a bit less.
The C5 ZO6 is a bit lighter and more of a drivers car than the standard C6, which has more luxury and electronics on it. It has different gearing and so forth so it is faster accelerating at all speeds (but its top speed, around 170+, is less than the C6s 180+).

Really it depends on what you want. I'd recommend driving them back to back to decide.

 

Well, The said transaction has already taken place, I was just curious because I was the salesman on the deal and I was taking care of a friend, He got an excellent deal on the C6, It just aggrivated me because he really was back and forth between a C6 or a C5 Z06, But I Had a C6 Black, 6-spd. Z51 that he liked, so he bought it, and it just so happened that days later (About 3 days ago) A gentleman traded in his 2003 Corvette Z06 (Very Blue, Very Pretty) with a B&B Custom Exhaust with only 14k on it, As a pre-trade on a 2007 Z06. My friend says even so, He loves his C6 that I sold him, I Only want nothing but the best for my friends, So I'm hoping the Z51 was it. Thanks for the input Lee, It's helpful as always.
