Default First mods- need opinions

Just bought first vette(04 conv, 6spd), have always been a mustang guy. Anyways love the car, just want to upgrade exhaust looking for a little bit throatier sound. Any opinions thinking of borla, just based on reputation and previous experience in past with stangs. Also looking at cold air kits, any help would be appreciated. First GM car and all performance knowledge has been ford based. thanks

Hello,
Welcome. I have a 1999 C5 with Corsa cat-back exhaust w/ x-pipe and I love the way it sounds. It is quiet at cruising speeds, but opens up a bit at WOT. I love it, but it may not be loud enough for some people. When I bought the vehicle it already had the exhaust. I think it is the Corsa "touring" exhaust, but I am not sure.

After hearing many types of cat-back exhaust systems at a Dyno Day event, I bought quad-round tips Borla Stingers. Both those and Magnaflows have that throaty, 60s rumble that I am partial to (after having a 68 C3 for almost 22 years).

As for intake systems, the Callaway Honker is certainly one of the best (also, it is smog legal in CA). I bought the Halltech Stinger intake and then opened up the lower radiator cover to bring in cold air. You can find my procedures here:

If you like a really loud exhaust go with SLP you can go to www.lmperformance.com and get a package deal with the SLP Blackwing intake. Both go on very easy in under two hours.

Hello! I also just bought my first vett an 04 auto trans, andI amglad that I found this forum, I want to upgrade the air intake, and exhaust and was looking form folks that had already done it to get inputs. I have always been into the 442's so this is all new territory for me. I was thinking going with the Blackwing air intake, and SLP Power Flow, for my first two mods. Is this a good combo or is there something better.
