I recently swapped out my stock leather shifter **** for a hurst ball. Everything was fine with the thread sizing, however I seem to now have a significant gap between the slack left on the threads and the bottom of the ****. Is there anything I can buy to cover this slack.. it looks horrible to see an inch plus of raw threads and a backing nut when the **** looks so good. I tried covering it with the top of the boot, but it comes down the second you move the shifter .

You could try black heat shrink tubing or any other color for that matter.
