Cool suspension questions

hey everybody. i think i finally got to the bottom of my random P0410 code. As you may know, that code relates to an air system failure. the pump is good, but the code kept coming up randomly every three or four times of driving the car. mostly it would cause the light to come on when i hit the brakes, as if a loose wire or something? anyhow, finally got up the nerve to dig into it more. ended up taking off most of the passengar headlight assembly, and the whole inner and outer passenger fender - which is a big feat for me.

come to find one of the air tubes was stretched as tight as it could be, and i found a cut in it. took it off to go find a replacement, and in the process found several large holes in the tube. since we live out in the country i have had problems with field mice when i leave any one of our cars sitting for too long. anyway, got that all replaced and put back together.

in the process of putting it all back together i noticed the rubber around the ball joint looked dry, and cracked. now i haven't had any unusual tire wear, but it still got me to thinking, probably should grease those up, or maybe even replace both and get an alignment before the next set of tires. i've swapped out balljoints before, but not on a corvette. is it going to be any different from changing one out on say, a camaro? didn't look much different. as long as i use the "official" ball joint pulls, should be easy right? (my very first vehicle was a 1969 chevrolet shortbed stepside, which my dad and i rebuilt from the ground up. i must say, changing the ball joints was the most tedious task on that whole truck - we finally had to get a blowtorch out, heat the dang things up and pound them out - the typical tool simply wouldn't knock them loose). anyway, have any of you ever replaced the ball joints on your c5?
