that won't work...tried it for.....other reasons(was wet and foot slipped off pedal). car stayed on in accessory mode with engine off. not sure why they made this feature into the car...same as that blasted 1-4 shift in the C-5 and C-6 manual trans cars.

 

Shouldn't your DIC tell you to shift to reverse?

My 05 says to shift to reverse, otherwise it will not properly shut off.

This is "Tiger".I tried to log in but the password was not valid so I tried to have it resent, it would not work so I signed up again

Anyway, yesterday, i started my Vette up upon leaving work and the blasted thing had the check engine light on again.

This is the 3rd time its happened and the dealer can not figure it out. I asked them to start the Lemon law thing and see about putting me into an 08 Z06 that was on their floor.

What a freaking nightmare to buy one of these and have this crap. But on the upside, my wife was cool with the upgrade is the dealer can swing it.

 

If you think it is frustrating now, just wait until you actually start the Lemon process. Talk about a nighmare!
Good luck with that, and stay patient. You are going to need it, especially if you are looking to get a replacement vehicle.

I thought they fixed the battery drain issue in 05? My dad is looking at an 08 and couldn't test drive either an 07 or an 08 because all of the batteries were dead at the dealership?

Are automatic cars affected as well? This could be a deal killer.

 

I don't know if it should be a deal killer issue.
I have had my '07 Z51 MT6since April. I do use the car on occasion durring the week, but it's mostly a weekend car. I have never had any low battery issues, but I always park the car in reverse just as the sales person told me to. I thought it was kind of a strange thing, and I always have parked my cars in 1st or 2nd... but he warned me to do this.
PS, if you don't end up buying the Vette because of this issue, stay away from the 350Z! That's the POS I traded in for the Vette.
Issues with the Z (all TSBs by the way):
tire feathering
rear axle clicking
oil consuption(Nissan finaly gave me a new motor)
rear view mirror rattle
passenger air bag rattle
gas door not opening
crappy paint qulity(chips REALLY easy)

Problems with the Vette so far:
None!!
