2005 Corvette issues
Hey everyone. I am a new Corvette owner and im trying to have a better understanding of the issues im running into with my '05 Corvette. Its a 6-speed about 94000 miles. I'll list and please if anyone has any experience or a solution to the issue please let me know. And please excuse the non technical terms.
- AC only blows from defrost setting. The air is cold, but does not switch. I assume its becasue of a vacuum line leak which controls the vent doors in the dash. It doesnt bother me too much now, but it will need to be fixed.
- Occasioanally the vehicle will not start. The power is coming from the battery, all voltage looks good. but the starter does not engage. I normally remove the black battery connection and leave it off for 5 minutes to reset and this seems to work, but highly annoying.
- The horn started to sound extremely weak and barely audible. Recently, it does not make sound at all. Fuse box?
- Gears are difficult to get into at times, feels like they have an extra gate to go through like a speed bump. Along this same line, I have a bad habit of pulling my shifter out of 1st when sitting at a light, and whne i try to re-engage, 1st gear is blocked. I have to remove my foot from the clutch and re-engage to get myself back into 1st. Is this a "me" problem?
Thank you for any assistance. I appreciate it.

Welcome to the forum.
The A/C problem is the blend door actuator.
Do you get any sound when it doesn't start?
Try connecting 12V directly to the horn. If that doesn't work and there is an adjustment screw, try turning the screw in and out with 12V applied.
The transmission problem sounds like a linkage adjustment problem.

Update: I have fixed the starting issue. The steering column lock was engaged and not unlocking when i attempted to start the car. It confused me because the typical Column lock text was not present in the dash display. I tore out the dash and gauges and put in an column lock bypass. This immediately fixed the issue.
As far as the AC, I cant find a good set of instructions or video to adjust this. My understanding is that its under the entire dash and will require me to take it all out. More than likely ill take it to a shop to have tested to make sure its the actuator and not something silly.
