Default STALE ODOR OUT OF VENTS

Hi, I own a 2006 Z51 & when the car is started after sitting a few hours or overnight in the garage a stale odor comes out of the air vents for approximately15 - 20 seconds. has anyone experience this issue if so do you know the cause & what can Ido to cure this minor issue ???? thanks in advance.

Not sure if this is your problem, but if you are using the A/C it might be.
When you run the A/C, you can end up with moisture at the condensor. A few minutes before you get to your destination, use the A/C off button (snowflake with a line through it), run up the fan speed manaully to high. You will feel just as cool. There is enough left over cooling power to last for minutes. This will help to dry everything out before you shut it down.
This will help to avoid mold and mildew. I have always done this with all the cars I have had, and never had a problem with mold.

Make sure the condensate is draining freely from the A/C evaporator/heater box. Do you have wet carpet or blowing water out of any of the outlets? I'm not up on the C5-C6 but all A/C units have to be able to get rid of the condensate, should be a rubber drain nipple on the bottom of the A/C evaporator/heater core box-just make sure it's clear.
