Default trans tunnel insulation

I've got an early production number car which does not have trans tunnel insulation- it gets quite toasty after a while, the storage compartment is pretty much unusable. The 12-05' issue of Car & Driver reported in their Z06 test that GM had put insulation back into the production vehicle. Does anyone know if GM will provide a retrofit ?

Default RE: trans tunnel insulation

I'd ask the dealer. Certainly they can work something out -- they won't want an unhappy customer of their premier model. One I saw recently, just sold about ten weeks ago, did not have any insulation there but I do not know when it was manufactured, only when it was sold.
