Is it possible that something is binding against the linkage, rather than the linkage has disconnected?

Hi George Chard, and welcome to the forum. There is a tool called a " Slim Jim" . It's a flat piece on metal that slips down between the outer glass and once in there you wiggle it around to get the door to unlock. Cops have them and so does "AAA" and so do the tow truck drivers see if you can get the cops to help you unlock the door and then you can figure out what's wrong in there. PG>

Hi again, sorry I gave you bad information. I forgot that the latch control rods on our cars is between the door trim and the door skins on the inside of the car. I just looked a page 11-8 in the Haynes Manual to figure out why you still had the problem. Do you have that book or a catalog to get an idea of what it looks like in there. With the window down there might be enough room to open it with a coat hanger. PG.
