Greetings 'Vette family. My wife's 81 has the BW 4 speed trans w/3.55 gears (gears are aftermarket). Car runs like a scalded cat.

These days - it's not practical to drive a stick (in traffic) when she wants to take the 'beast' to work.

Question: what are folks doing these days for a conversion to automatic? An overdrive gear would be nice. Is the 700R4 the way to go? What say you all?

Probably be the easiest to install since I think that was what they were using in '81. If you do, make sure you get one that's had all of the upgrades done.
