1994 coupe door lock problems
Hi all, new to the forum. I got my first Vette last November and been working on it.
Hope someone can help, I am having trouble with my door locks and footwell lights, all this happened at the same time and this is how it started.
I was adjusting the driver door glass, after when I finished, I noticed my footwell light on the driver side not working anymore. So I removed the light and found that there's no ground coming into the switch when the doors are open but I have power. All other lights come on, footwell passenger side, lights in the doors and rear cargo lights. Each lights share the same power and ground so technically it's the ground wire for that light only is cut.
So I figure it was a cut wire for that light, so I said to my self I'll deal with it later on. So I put my driver panel back on and my second problem happened. When I physically closed the door, the doors unlock electrically and this happens even with the passenger door. So I removed the driver door panel again to see if any wires we're crossed or damaged by me adjusting the window and all ok. That's when I noticed that when the driver side door lock switch that is under the handle is unplugged the problem isn't there, so when I looked at the wiring diagram I see that the passenger switch is linked to the driver switch and if the driver switch isn't plugged the passenger side doesn't work.
Verified both door switches are fine, the driver door is new.
I'm going through the wiring diagram and I can't see what these 2 systems have in common, anybody have any idea or as seen this problem?
Thanks

This might seem dumb but...do you have your key fob for the car nearby? 94 and newer have perimeter lock and unlock with the key fob. You may have unknowingly repaired something and now that feature is working.
I don't have a keyfob for the car.
