C5 driving question

Default C5 driving question

What does theActive Handlingdo and how and is there any benifit in performance with it off.

The active handling will intervene to try to keep the car from sliding or spinning out, should you do something boneheaded. After experimenting, I never drove my vette, even after modification, with it off. It saved my car three or four times, and my ***, once for sure that i know of.

If you are a pro (as I was briefly thirty years ago, before my reaction times and eyesight went to hell) and are on a road course, you can turjnit off and maybe gain a bit of speed by deliberating sliding (drifting the car). But for most of us, leave it on all the time.

Yes as i found out this afternoon. I took it off and hammered it and before i could get out of it i was totally sideways in 2 different direction. I know refer to it as "the done anything stupied lately button"

So in my 04 automatic say i am hopping right lights is it better to leave the transmission in OD or should i shift to 3rd and then let the transmission work or just go old school and put her in 1st and shift at the red line,

And by the why you guys are great and If youever have Harley questions i can return the favor

I think you'd be better off holding the brake while revving up to a certain rpm and then upon takeoff, let the gears do their thing.

3rd gear, hold the brakes andrun it upto 1800-2000, at the light roll the fun pedal on firmly til hookup, then mash it & you're gone.
It's why autos usually take an equally modded manual at the strip unless the manual driver is real good.
