fuel gauge problem
I had that happen with 3/4 of a tank last week. I read numerous threads saying to put an additive in like Chevrons techron usually about $5 a bottle. I havent had a problem since, gauge read properly instantly.
You should only use Top Tier gasoline in your Vette! Chevron was the first gasoline certified as Top Tier and that is all I use in my '02. Put a bottle of Techron in your tank, however if your tanlk is currently full I don't know if it will mix into both tanks(yes your car has two tanks and each have a fuel sending unit.) You may want to run another bottle thru starting with an empty tank. The problem is that the fuel sending units are affected by the high sulfur content of many gasolines and the techron keeps them clean. It is a $500 plus job to get these sending units replaced at your dealership. Moral to this story is don't use cheap gas!
There are new parts specifically designed to stop this problem. If you would like the part numbers e-mail me as I would have to look them up.

Just went to chevron site. PEA link is closed. A few other links were closed too.
???
Techron is the trade name for PEA - poly-ethyl-amine. Poly-ethyl is plastic, as in polyethylene. Works good dry,as in bushings. Amine group is ammonia. Good for fertilizer.
I guess it makes the plastic burn better when it goes through the combustion chamber.
Not in MY LT1.

Wow, I thought everyone had heard of Techron as it has been in Chevron gasoline for many years and they always advertise it. There is a big Techron sign on top of most Chevron gas pumps.
I never use any fuel but Chevron in my Vette if I can help it.
Speaking of LT1, my '96 had the LT1 and right by the gas cap there was a Chevron recommendation sticker placed there by the factory. I wonder why!
I am not a chemist but I do know the stuff works.
