I have not had this problem (yet), but havereadsimilar threads on this topic, and yes, it seems like its usually the sending unit.

This happens alot with the C-5's. Do a google search on replacing it. Repair manual calls for pulling the intake, but some have found it easier to punch a hole in the plastic directly overhead. I picked up my replacement sensor on ebay for $25. Good luck.

first turn key ,dont start motor. if psi is buried its the sending unit.you dont have to remove the intake, just unbolt stuff so you can lift slightly and move foward to gain access.you can reuse intake gaskets, use a TQ wrench, and wash the top of motor before taking apart.first time it will take a tad over an hour, then each time shorter cuz its gonna go bad again.dont go OEM.its called EOP sending unit,3 wire,a sending unit socket will help and dont overtighten
