Default Driving Modes

I was wondering if any one could explain the differences between "traction control off" and "competitve driving mode" ?

Also when it comes time to buy new tires, would you stick with the "run flats" or switch to regular tires ?

I my C5 the competitive mode turns the stability control off, too, so you can slide and spin the car. Traction control off just lets you spin the wheels as much as you want.

The competition mode doesn't really turn things off, technically it keeps the system on but with wide tilerance limits -- its essentially off, and you'll find that by the time it intervenes to stop spin, etc., it's really too late. I've had my car modified so it can never be shut off -- the things are brutal enough stock, with twice the torque its just unstable without the help.
